Ready to feel old?
On December 3, 1992, the first text message was sent.
It said, "Merry Christmas."
Few people realize they are making history when start something revolutionary. Clearly, this was no different.
I remember getting my first text back in 1999. I didn't know what was happening or how I got that message on my phone, and to be honest I was freaked out. Why was my friend and classmate inviting me to a party on my phone via text? HOW was he doing that?
Little did I know how much texting would change my, and everybody else's life.
Hence the trite little message of "Merry Christmas" that came around in 1992.
Something more profound might actually be disappointing when you think about it. If they knew it would change everything, wouldn't that be less fun?
I think so.
Anyway, happy birthday texting!
